have added a Router version as well. The Router versions have Dog
Bone Fillets to compensate for the cutter used that do not allow
sharp internal corners. Please see our learning pages if you are
unfamiliar with Dog Bone Fillets in CNC Routing. Scrollsaw users
would use the Laser versions.

The Steam Train Locomotive

A Steam Locomotive is a railway locomotive that produces its power through a steam engine.
These locomotives are fueled by burning some combustible material, usually coal, wood or
oil, to produce steam in a boiler, which drives the steam engine. Both fuel and water
supplies are carried with the locomotive, either on the locomotive itself or in wagons
pulled behind. Steam locomotives were first developed in Britain and dominated railway
transportation until the middle of the 20th century. From the early 1900's they were gradually
superseded by electric and diesel locomotives. The earliest railways employed horses to
draw carts along railed tracks. The United States started developing steam locomotives in
1829 with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad's Tom Thumb. This was the first locomotive to run
in America. in 1837 the first steam railway started up in Austria  and in 1838 the third
steam locomotive to be built in Germany, the Saxonia, was manufactured. The first railway
line over Swiss territory was the Strasbourg-Basle line opened in 1844. Over the years, steam
locomotives have become a very popular image in representations of trains. Many toy trains
based on steam locomotives are made, thereby making the image iconic with trains to children.
Their popularity has led to steam locomotives being portrayed in fictional works about trains,
mostly notably "The Raileay Series" by the Rev W.V Awdry and "The Little Engine That Could"
by Watty Piper. Collect your Wonderful Steam Locomotive Today!
