Parts List

We have also included a suggested parts list and a couple of places where you might find these parts (please: See parts list PDF in the zip file)

First off all the DXF and EPS files are ready to cut and have been sized to fit a 48 inch X 96 “ sheet but are in imperial inch format so for those of you in Metric Land here are some things to consider before you cut. What are the sizes of the bearings and drive shafts you will be using?
Also, what are the sizes of the bolts and nuts?
You will need to find equivalent metric sizes for these parts.
Make sure you check the hole sizes to see that they will fit the holes.
Also, make sure that you have the dados deep enough so that the shafts will not bind if you use metric vs. imperial steel rods etc.
A couple of the bearing sizes we used are not the same as the ones described in the Instructables version so make sure you change the hole sizes and bearing dado depths to fit what ever you are using!
An edge boring set of drawings is also in the zipfile to show where you need to edge bore the holes.

The base board is cut from ¾ Inch MDF and all other parts are cut from 1/2 Inch MDF.
All using a ¼ inch Router bit

If you live in Europe you may be able to find colored MDF which is great for this and other makeMZBot projects!

Belts and timing pulleys are available from Mc Master Carr online and should be light enough to make it viable to ship most places in the world for a reasonable price. You can substitute ordinary nuts for cross nuts in most cases  but try to use the correct ones if you can find them.

PLEASE NOTE:  makeCNC  have gone to much trouble to create these files for you.  The CNC DXF files have been extensively modified to allow easy cutting on a CNC wood router using dogbone techniques to compensate for the radius of the router bit to allow for clean sharp fitting components.
(dogbones compensate for the raduis of the router bit on an inside corners)

Welcome to the world of Robotic Tools and CNC!
